Fostering a community of belonging and collaboration with set standards of excellence in the speaking profession.
Providing training and resources for growth and honoring achievement to empower speakers to not only share a message, but to become the most skilled, respected, top-paid, and impactful voices across every sphere of influence.

Our Story

The National Christian Association of Professional Speakers (NCAPS) was founded with a bold vision: to see Christians become the most respected, sought-after voices in every industry — not only for their message, but for their unmatched excellence in skill, expertise, professionalism, and love for others.

Founder Katie Hornor, an international speaker and award-winning business coach, saw the need for an association that would connect, inspire, equip and celebrate Christian speakers to shine the light of the Gospel with excellence and kindness in both sacred and secular arenas. Hornor was inspired by the C.S. Lewis quote: “What we want is not more little books about Christianity, but more little books by Christians on other subjects — with their Christianity latent.” She applied that to the professional speaking world stating that:

"What we want is not more speakers on Christian topics, but more Christian professionals speaking on other topics — with their Christianity latent, so that God's glory and His Gospel can go out to all the world through the speeches, examples, and lives of Christian experts in every industry across the board."

With Connie Buskohl, a seasoned CPA and serial entrepreneur, and Heather Rosson, CEO of the National Association of Christian Women Entrepreneurs (NACWE), as founding board members Hornor began NCAPS to champion speakers who influence culture with integrity and impact.

From the start, NCAPS has been intentional to collaborate (not compete) with existing associations and ministries by coming alongside them in support to enhance their work by raising up speakers who embody the highest standards of professionalism, creativity, and Christlike character and who can go back to their communities and make a bigger impact.

Our story is one of collaboration and calling. We believe that when Christian communicators are inspired, equipped, and celebrated for their excellence, their influence transforms both hearts and industries. Through NCAPS, a new generation of voices is rising — voices of speakers who are not only excellent in craft but radiant in faith, using their stories for God’s glory and carrying the Gospel light into all the world via stages large and small, sacred and secular.
